Potato Print Gift Tags
Here's how to use a potato to make some lovely gift tags for your friends and family.
For this project you will need:
1 x big potato
1 x large plate
a knife
a pencil
some paints
some plain luggage labels (or make your own with card and string)
some glue and glitter
01
Ask an adult to cut the potato in half and use your pencil to draw on a simple design. You could draw a star, a snowman or a Christmas tree.
02
Using the knife (or a teaspoon) carefully cut away the background so that your design stands out by about 0.5cm.
03
Pour some paint onto your plate and press the potato face down into it.
04
Now press the potato onto a luggage label. Carry on printing on labels, dipping into the paint again when the design gets faint.
05
Use the other half of your potato to create another print design in another colour.
06
Glue on glitter to make your gift tags extra special. Write on names and messages and tie them to your presents.
Remember...
Please make sure you ask a responsible adult to help you.
