Ask an adult to carve out a lid leaving a 'tooth' so that it's easy to fit it back onto the pumpkin later.
Plunge your hand into the pumpkin and fish out all those sticky seeds. Remember that they are delicious roasted so don't throw them away.
Using the spoons, dig and scrape out some of the flesh (use this in a pumpkin recipe later). The walls need to be no more than 3cm thick.
Draw the letters of your name onto the pumpkin in marker pen. Make them as big as possible. If you go wrong simply wipe off with the damp rag.
Ask an adult to carefully carve out the letters. When your lantern is finished, put a night light or small torch inside it and replace the top.
Please make sure you ask a responsible adult to help you.
