Jelly is a great way to use strawberries you’ve grown yourself (if you managed
not to eat them all while you picked them!). This recipe needs very hot water,
so always ask an adult to pour it for you
Ingredients per pair of children:
8 strawberries
Jelly cubes or granules for half a pint of jelly
01In a bowl mash up 5 or 6 strawberries with a fork.
02Cut the other strawberries into thin slices.
03Put your cut-up jelly squares or granules in the bottom of a measuring jug and ask an adult to pour over boiling water up to ¼ pint
04Keep stirring until the jelly is dissolved.
05Then add the mashed strawberries and top with cold water to ½ pint.
06Put the strawberry slices in the bottom of the bowl or mould and pour on the liquid jelly.
07Put in the fridge. When the jelly is set run warm water over the bottom of the bowl and turn the jelly out on to a plate.
