Poached pears

If you’re buying the pears, make sure you buy English pears. 
If you’re cooking this at school everyone’s pears could be poached together.

Per pair of children
Ingredients
10 tablespoons or 1/2 cup apple juice
5 tablespoons or 1/4 cup orange juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
a good pinch of grated nutmeg
2 cloves
2 whole pears
1 tablespoon of orange zest
1 tablespoon of Greek yoghurt

01Put the juices and spices in a small bowl.
02Peel the pears leaving on the stems.
03Put the pears in a saucepan with the juice and simmer gently (don’t boil) for about 30 minutes. Turn the pears often.
04While the pears are cooking, zest the orange. If the oranges are waxed (most are, unless they are organic) immerse them in hot water first and rub firmly with a tea towel to remove the wax before zesting.
05Serve the pears in the juice topped with orange zest and Greek yoghurt.
