Edible Playground

At Dorset Cereals we heard about this amazing scheme that had been created by Screen Bites, Dorset's Food Film Festival, which focuses on local food
and healthy eating, and we had to find
out more...

In 2007, the Edible Playground scheme worked with four Dorset schools. The schools were supported in growing food and then shown how to make their produce into fabulous meals. Alongside activity in the garden and kitchen, the children had fun finding out about lots of different foods, focusing particularly on what is grown locally. Visits to local growers and farms were part of the experience. Click here to see the
Edible Playground film.

The four Edible Playgrounds in Dorset were supported by our great friends Castle Gardens and set up with the help from Chalk and Cheese. Dorset Cereals have been working with the inspiring team at Screen Bites to develop this into a nationwide initiative. Click here to download our press release
