This parody of Humpty Dumpty was created in English, DT, Science, Music and ICT lessons. The children have learnt such a variety of skills from learning how plants grow to compiling a storyboard and creating an animated movie with photographs. They even made their own music by singing and using the eJay Music Studio. It was truly a cross-curricular project. The children loved it and are very proud of the outcome.
by Rendcomb College Junior School
This video clip is an animation created by 2 pupils from J3H. They had to plant their seeds, photograph them as they grew, write a storyboard, develop and record the dialogue, arrange the pictures in Windows moviemaker and then develop their own music. It was a project that covered so many subject areas in the school curriculum.

This film was made by Natasha and Flavia at Cerne Abbas First School, Dorset. We spent the day cooking and eating the eggs and then set up our cress heads and recorded our own soundtracks. Seven days later this is what we made.
Films for Learning is about teachers and learners making their own learning films and sharing them with others. A ‘film for learning’ can explain and teach something or demonstrate learning taking place – just like a cress head film. In fact if you have made other films you could upload and share those on the Films for Learning website – please check the rules regarding copyright etc.
Films for Learning is free… you can use any part of the Films for Learning website and associated resources. The website contains no advertising and no inappropriate links. We moderate all content before it goes live... Unlike all other video sharing sites there is no commercial angle to Films for Learning, it is run voluntarily by teachers for anyone who wants to learn and share their ‘learning films’. Follow the links from the FFL Theatre to the ‘FFL Community’, this has free downloadable resources, blogs and forums for film makers in school or at home.
Films for Learning has received funding and help from NESTA, The Innovation Unit and more recently Microsoft.
